Israel's largest demonstration of all time was held in Kikar Rabin, in
Tel Aviv, on 13 Tammuz (July 16). This was during the first weekend of
the Camp David talks. A quarter of a million people from all over the
country arrived on hundreds of buses. "Ein lecha mandat!" -
"Barak, you don't have a mandate" to give away our land.
There is nothing so uplifting as to see thousands and thousands of Jews,
from the most diverse backgrounds, gather together in one place for a
common cause. You feel such an energy. And you know that you're a part
of something really important. Every single person counts.

I must also note that in between the big events were all sorts of smaller
protests, prayer vigils, and hunger strikes! And to be fair, the Israeli
Left was out there too, doing the exact opposite of us but with not nearly
the numbers or frequency. They came up with the funniest slogans. My
favorite was: "The majority has decided: Peace!" That was the theme of a
demonstration they held only a couple of days after the Knesset voted 54-52
to topple Barak's government.
